We require a 50% deposit to confirm and secure your reservation and the amount can be paid by Visa, MasterCard, E-transfer, or Wire Transfer. All trip balances are due 30 days prior to the start date.
In brief, please dress appropriately for the forecasted weather and make sure you bring your picture and/or video camera to capture the day’s memories.

River Sportfishing offers multi-day accommodation packages to those who are planning an extended fishing holiday to the Vancouver or Fraser Valley area. We’ve partnered up with 4 different accommodation facilities, strategically located in different sections of the river to give us quick and easy access to great fishing at the time of your trip. Each facility offers first-class service and hospitality to ensure your stay is both comfortable and enjoyable.

Although we typically start our trips at 8 am, meeting and start times may vary depending on the trip type, trip length, and tidal flows (if applicable). This detail will be confirmed upon your trip reservation. We are flexible on the start times to suit your schedule or travel itinerary.
River Sportfishing provides all the necessary tackle and equipment for your fishing needs, including rods, reels, breathable waders, and wading boots. That being said, you’re more than welcome to bring your own, other than sturgeon tackle, which requires specialized equipment. Unfortunately, we do not supply double-handed spey rods as they are more of a “personal” piece of equipment.
Our jet boats are river machines, designed to navigate our local rivers quickly and safely. Our fleet consists of 21-24ft machines, all fully covered to protect you from the elements at all times. They’re spacious, comfortable, with plenty of storage. We do our best to assign the right size of boat for your group’s needs.
All of our boats can accommodate groups of 4 comfortably, and some of the fleet’s larger boats can accommodate up to 5 guests. In order to maximize your fishing experience and for safety reasons, our Pitt River wilderness adventure is limited to 3 anglers per boat. Boats are not used for our Steelhead Walk & Wade trips.
This depends on where you’re fishing and the species you’re targeting. We will supply you with the necessary fishing license information, including online links, along with your final trip details. You will need to purchase the licenses online prior to your trip. All freshwater (non-tidal) and saltwater (tidal) licenses have to be purchased online.
Depending on the arrangements made upon your booking, you will meet your guide at one of our boat launch locations or outside the hotel you’re staying at. If staying at the B&B Lodge, your guide will pick you up in his boat at the B&B’s own river-front access point.
River Sportfishing can supply optional lunches for an additional fee, which include sandwiches, fruit, snacks and beverages. However, you’re more than welcome to bring your own lunches for the day. Each one of our boats is equipped with a cooler, where you can store your lunches and beverages.
For driving guests, please bring a cooler stocked with ice, big enough to transport your catch back home. For guests flying to international destinations, St. Jean’s Cannery has a fish drop off depot at the Vancouver International Airport. They can look after all your smoking, canning and shipping needs.
We are in a service oriented industry and guide gratuities are welcomed & appreciated. Tip amounts are personal and can vary greatly. On average, roughly 10% of your total daily boat cost is the standard for a tip, however, this amount can be lower or higher depending on how happy you were with your guide, the service he provided, and the results he produced.

Bluewater Rockies Sportfishing are world class! Chris kept in touch with us from the start and was kind enough to phone us (even though we live on the other side of the world in a different time zone) to answer the many question we had when booking out trip. Our guides (Cord and Braeden) were absolutely top class – knowledgeable, professional and fun to fish with. They were focused on showing us a great time, which they did. We had amazing fishing – 17 sturgeon landed in the two days with several of them over 8 feet long. The guides are very care to look after the fish, and always handled them with care. I have been fishing with the guy’s at Bluewater Rockies since 2009. It does not get any better than this – our group has been been disappointed and we keep coming back for more. The sturgeon fishing has been absolutely phenomenal… double headers of 6’+ fish, over 25 sturgeon hooked one day, and a number of fish bigger than 8′ – WOW! These guy’s know their stuff!! Our group will be be back again next year!
We had 9 days salmon and sturgeon fishing with Bluewater and was the best experience you could ever hope for. Our guide Sacha ( bro ) was brilliant and put us consistently on both salmon and sturgeon. Thanks again to Chris and the boys for making this a venture one we will never forget. Having fished for more than 50 years in North and South America, I can attest that the ultimate test of guide’s skill is how he performs when fishing conditions are sluggish. Chris Ciesla of Bluewater Rockies Sportfish Guiding Company demonstrated this fact again in September. For the ninth consecutive year my partner and I fished with Chris on the Fraser River for sturgeon. Because of an earlier slowing in the salmon run, sturgeon fishing was not up to its usual abundance. Nonetheless, solely reflecting Chris’ efforts, skill and creativity in selecting new fishing spots and baits, we were able to boat 52 sturgeon during the week. In addition to these foregoing attributes, Chris has a delightful personality, has well maintained equipment and is devoted to his craft. Next year will mark the 10th anniversary of my fishing with his company. I heartily recommend him to any fishing group seeking out the “best in class.”
I booked this trip from Australia in anticipation of putting my best mate and his wife onto some exciting Sturgeon fishing. Boy did I pick the right guide. From the start of the trip to the very end Chris was an absolute legend, who could do more to accommodate our needs. Everything from the gear we used to the needs of the girls was truly exceptional.
