A group of 8 Anglers, friends from UK, NZ and US spent 6 days fishing with our guides Chris, Tristan & Wayne Sept 2019. Absolutely fantastic Sturgeon fishing with 188 fish landed including 3 over 8 feet and well over a dozen over 7. Everything ran like clockwork from start to finish. Have been fishing with these guys for about 5 years. Always the best with this company. They have the top of the line gear with extremely knowledgeable guides. I look forward to this annual trip all year long. Whether it’s sturgeon or salmon or steelhead or trout they will put you on the fish every time. Sacha had been great for us every year! 18-19 (we lost count a little) sturgeon, in one day! One over 8 feet, several over 7, and the rest of them around 5-6! Don’t know what to say really. Thanks to my very professional guide Tyson who put me on to them all. Super nice guy with a lot of experience, it shows. Made the day. And Chris who won me over on the phone. There are other companies doing this, but while they lost themselves going on about statistics and reviews, Chris got straight to the FISHING. Being a fishing guide myself, I truly appreciate that. So take it from someone on the “inside”, these guys know what they are doing. A truly great experience. Thank you.

I have been fishing with the guy’s at Bluewater Rockies since 2009. It does not get any better than this – our group has never been disappointed and we keep coming back for more. The sturgeon fishing has been absolutely phenomenal… double headers of 6’+ fish, over 25 sturgeon hooked in one day, and a number of fish bigger than 8′ – WOW! These guy’s know their stuff! Our group will be back again next year!

Sturgeon have an immense amount of power and speed, and are capable of peeling 200yds of line off the spool in seconds. Even though sturgeon are mostly bottom feeders, their fighting ability can be compared to that of any BIG GAME sport fish, and they aren’t referred to the “poor man’s marlin” for nothing. Their aerial displays are an awesome thing to see, as they launch their massive bodies out of the water in an attempt to throw the hook. Many of our guests are overwhelmed at how big and powerful these fish can really get!
