About Sturgeon
Sturgeon Fishing in British Columbia, Canada is recognized internationally as an incredible sport fishery. British Columbia’s Fraser River is not only the biggest salmon-producing river system found anywhere, but it’s also one of the top sturgeon fishing destinations in the world. This can be attributed to the large and increasing population of sturgeon present in the Fraser River and its tributaries, as well as the incredible sizes that they can attain. Each year, many anglers plan their sturgeon fishing trips with our company to get a chance at battling with North America’s biggest freshwater game fish. If you’re looking for that ultimate challenge in freshwater sport fishing, than sturgeon fishing is for YOU! We recommend you try it at least once in your lifetime.
Sturgeon have an immense amount of power and speed, and are capable of peeling 200yds of line off the spool in seconds. Even though sturgeon are mostly bottom feeders, their fighting ability can be compared to that of any BIG GAME sport fish, and they aren’t referred to the “poor man’s marlin” for nothing. Their aerial displays are an awesome thing to see, as they launch their massive bodies out of the water in an attempt to throw the hook. Many of our guests are overwhelmed at how big and powerful these fish can really get!
